$2,000 Scholarship Recipient

Ama Autobrah

South Lakes High School

Congratulations to Ama Autobrah, a $2,000 Fairfax County Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. scholarship recipient.   Ama is from South Lakes High School; she wishes to study vocal music performance and law.  Ama is the recipient of a $2,000 scholarship from Fairfax County Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  Ama is a singer and songwriter and she has used her love of music to teach young aspiring performers self confidence and stage presence.  She has worked for the last five years in a camp for performing arts to teach private and vocal lessons to help students “unearth their inner voices and allow them to express themselves more thoroughly.”

Ama’s music teacher states that she demonstrates superior musicianship and her work ethic, self-motivation and self-discipline are exemplary.  Ama is an International Baccalaureate Diploma candidate; she is enrolled in one of the most challenging curriculums in her high school.

Ama’s, involvement in community service, her strong extracurricular activities, and her exceptional academic profile made her a standout and a very competitive candidate for the 2006 FCAC Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. scholarship.

Ama applied to the following schools:  Cornell, Princeton, New York, American, Columbia, Berklee College of Music, The University of Virginia, The College of William and Mary, James Madison and Virginia Commonwealth.
