Ruth Redd
2002-2003
Soror Ruth Redd was Initiated into
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 1989 in the Kansas City
Missouri Alumnae Chapter. She Chose Delta Sigma Theta Sorority
for many reasons, one of them being its legacy of active
Community Service. Soror Redd became an active member of
Fairfax County Alumnae Chapter in 1996.
During her time in FCAC Soror Redd
has served as a member of the Chapter’s Executive Board in the
role of Recording Secretary. She has Chaired both the Retreat and
Sunshine Committees, served as a member of the Ways and Means
Committee and the Delta Research & Foundation Committee.
Soror Redd has substituted on a number of occasions for the Vice
President, Corresponding secretary and Time and Place Committee
Chairperson. Soror Redd has also volunteered for many
Program Planning and Development community service projects
Soror Redd serves faithfully in her
community. Soror Redd is a Member of the Herndon Chase
Homeowners Association, Architectural Review Board Committee and
First Baptist Church of Herndon & Heritage Fellowship United
Church of Christ
The Tennessee native maintains a
healthy mental and physical attitude enjoying aerobic exercise &
weight lifting, gardening and wine-testing. Her challenging
professional career as a Software Applications Consultant for
Exxon Mobil often involves domestic and international travel.
Work & leisure have taken Ruth to “exotic” places such as
Athens, Greece, the French Riviera, Cyprus, Vienna, Paris and
Venice. Ruth’s currently work assignment requires that she
commutes weekly from Herndon, VA to Houston, TX.
Ruth’s greatest pleasure is being of
assistance to anyone in need. Her giving spirit is highlighted
through the top priorities in life: family and close friends.
Her steadfast and exemplary work and productivity in Delta Sigma
Theta Sorority, Inc. have made a deserving recipient of this
honor.
