Greetings:
The Fairfax
County Alumnae Chapter (FCAC)
welcomes you to our website.
Almost ninety
five year ago, our illustrious sorority was founded by 22
courageous, strong and daring young women of power, who sought to
change. To change not only an organization, but society. Not
knowing what the change would bring, but only knowing that it needed
to come. Seeking to right the wrongs filled with double standards,
they began the Journey to Change.
From their
nationally documented first public act for the right to vote to the
recent rally of Jena 6, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been
there and with God’s grace will continue to be there.
Welcome to the
website of the Fairfax County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority, Inc. As FCAC approaches its 15th anniversary
of establishment, I am privileged to share with you some of the
marks that we have made in this Journey to Change in this
website.
Fairfax County
Alumnae Chapter has worked tirelessly to implement the programs of
our national five – point thrust:
Economic
Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and
Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and
Involvement.
For our
continued volunteer efforts we have received Fairfax County
Volunteer Service Award in 2006. As you peruse our website, you will
view the many programs and projects that bestowed us that
distinguish award.
We are grateful
for our family, friends and to you the community for supporting our
programs and projects for the years. We welcome you to be apart of
this Journey to Change to make a difference in our community,
nation and the world.
Enjoy your
visit.
Service with
Humility
